ORN #01 START

Welcome to the circular cycle route around the river Nitra!

Leave your geo-vehicle (in which you have brought your bike) at the car park and let yourself be invited to embark on the comfortable and leisurely cycle tour. The most of the route is situated on the dykes of the river Nitra where you can sometimes find uneven, unsupported and unsteady surface, some grass and the rocks. Only a small part of the route is actually on the concrete, asphalt pavements. Therefore for the safety reasons, it is important that we recommend a mountain bike, rather then a road bike. Well, however after the rain has fallen, I wouldn't even try the road bike.. :-)

There will be 30 km ahead of you and 45 caches on the way - waiting for you, and definitely not the 1/1. This is in case you get bored by looking around and the view would not be particularly pleasing to your eye. That doesn’t mean that the countryside is not interesting around here. We have some magical picturesque cove that create a meander of the river Nitra, beautiful mini forest in Berk and the waterfalls of Zugov.
The truth of the matter is that in the spring and summer season - most of the time your eyes will see the fields with corn, durum wheat and other crops - characteristic for this agriculture focused part of the country.
During the months of autumn and winter you can please your eyesight with the views of the windrowed fields. It is sad to notice that at some places you would see some rubbish left lying around which has been caused by people. Please do not criticise me for it, it is out of my hands to change this, and I wish it was different.

Of course there is another option and if you want to - the route can be completed on foot. Well, on one condition - if you are willing to fight through the constant attack of the small blood-craving little vampires . ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. If someone chooses to take a car – oh well, I can’t stop you…

Some difficulties are higher due to the risk of mugglers messing up with the caches. Some terrains are higher because you need to carry your bike down and back up again, or you need to walk on the concrete pavement for a little while. However over all – it is a piece of cake :-) You can, in addition to these 45 caches series - get extra 4 caches, which are located very close to each other or are on the route you are taking anyway. I hope thank to this series you will discover a part of the world you might have not discovered otherwise.

Lastly my plea:
PLEASE TREAT THESE CACHES AS IF THEY WERE YOUR OWN :-) place them back exactly in the position how you have found them and mask them sufficiently. Think of those who will come to find them after you.

May this be a great fun for you, wishing you all a wonderful experience!

I would like to dedicate this to boyt who volunteered his time and took part in some beta-testing. Also I dedicate this to all of you who prefer to chase the caches on your two-wheeled beasts :-)
